Rural Economic Justice Initiative (REJI)

SCACED has launched the REJI to work with organizations led by people of color to mobilize, advocate and increase access to capital to build local economic opportunities and grassroots leadership for policy and systems change.   Our “train-the-trainer” approach aim at growing grassroots engagement by convening organization leadership to develop social justice strategies for policy priories, conduct workshops to educate resident leaders on capital resources, and deploy technical assistance to identify barriers to community economic development.  We are currently working with Allendale County A.L.I.V.E., Increasing H.O.P.E., New America Corporation, and Gullah Farmers' Cooperative Association.
