SC Association for Community Economic Development announces Community Impact Fund grants to member nonprofit organizations

CHARLESTON, S.C. — South Carolina Association for Community Economic Development (SCACED) announced today eight (8) grantees of the 2024 Community Impact Fund (CIF) Grants who received a total of $60,000.   

The grant awards, made possible through funding from the Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation, are made available to SCACED’s nonprofit member organizations for capacity building initiatives, development of affordable housing, and other economic development projects.

This year’s awards will support a range of projects, including entrepreneurship and minority business programs, workforce development training programs, transitional housing and housing protection services, food distribution, and case management and mental health support programs.

Awardees span across the state and a variety of sectors in the nonprofit industry, ranging from community development organizations, pro-bono legal service providers, housing providers, and entrepreneur education organizations. This year’s awardees, listed alphabetically with their location, include:

  • BlacQuity; Bluffton

  • Catalyst Community Development Corporation; Abbeville

  • Charleston Chamber Foundation; Charleston

  • Genesis Homes; Greenville

  • Latino Community Development; Richland

  • Lowcountry Legal Volunteers; Beaufort

  • Neighbors Together; Charleston

  • Soteria Community Development Corporation; Greenville
